For a while now, I have been wearing minimal to no makeup at all. I have become pretty low maintenance as I’ve gotten older (my fabulous wardrobe full of a wide variety of sweatpants and hoodies for all occasions says a lot). Since I no longer have the time OR the patience to do a full beat, I have to rely on making sure the skin is skinning since I’m too lazy to even put on a little concealer nowadays.
Since 2020 filled me up with so much anxiety and depression, it rocked my body so much that I started having eczema flare ups. This definitely shook up my confidence. So I had to switch up my skin care routine to get it back on track. The skin isn’t perfect but it has come a long way since that shut down. Here are the current skin care products on rotation (in pretty much the order I use them) to help me look a little like a Cullen under the sun:
Face Wash:
Aveeno Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser | Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser
• I switch up between these two cleansers and both are great for sensitive skin. The Vanicream cleanser is pretty gentle and because it does sud up, it does make my face feel extremely clean after washing off. The Aveeno cleanser is more like a milky cleanser. This leaves my skin feeling hella hydrated and I love having this in the rotation because it has nourishing oat which is a winner for eczema prone skin.

Thermal Water & Toner:
La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water | Rosewater Facial Toner
• I spray the spring water and let it sit for a bit before I pat in some of the Rosewater toner. Both are said to “hydrate, soothe, improve skin texture and potentiates the benefits of any topical skin care” applied after. Whatever can keep me hydrated and minimize any texture is a yes for me!

Essence:
COSRX Snail Mucin Power Essence
• Babyyyyy. Let me tell you, this shit WORKS! Snail Mucin is supposed to hydrate, soothe, and repair. I had eczema patches around my cheeks and my hands and since I’ve added this to my routine, it has kept the patches healed and at bay. Since seeing those patches smooth out and disappear, I was very much convinced of the power of this product! It’s an odd texture some may have to get used to but once you can get passed that, it’s well worth it!
10/10 recommend!

Moisturizer:
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream | La Roche-Posay Double Repair Face Moisturizer
• In the beginning of my journey to heal my skin, I started out with First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. It’s a bit pricey but well worth the investment as it was a huge part in soothing my eczema. It’s extremely hydrating and was a big help in soothing my irritated skin. And now that my skin is much healthier and less irritated, I switched to (another pricey product *cry face*) La Roche-Posay Double Repair Face Moisturizer and that seems to be keeping my skin fresh, smooth, and hydrated.

Ointment:
Cerave Healing Ointment
• Lastly, I use this healing ointment for slugging at night so I can make sure that I am sealing all of these products into my skin to make sure it’s all working it’s magic! Of course I only do this when I’m feeling my skin needs a little extra love or I just WANT to give my skin a little extra love.

Do you have dry, sensitive, eczema prone skin? What are some products you use to keep your skin smooth and glowing?
